INTRODUCTION: I’m a full time marine biologist...and metalsmith. Being a scientist is all analysis,logic, deduction...my left brain was huge...my right brain was shrinking... so I make jewelry to even out my lopsided head! Now it looks pretty normal!!
MATERIALS & METHODS: My jewelry is made using traditional metalsmithing techniques such as lost wax casting, forming and a variety of stone setting techniques. I work in sterling silver and fine quality gemstones.
I strive to be eco- and ethically conscious in my use of materials and use recycled, old stock or vintage materials whenever possible. I only use diamonds in compliance with the Kimberly Process and gemstones from non-conflict sources. My awesome tags and signs are made of recycled grocery bags by my friend Shirley!
